Declaration of the 78th Anniversary of the Coronation of H.I.M & Empress Menen
Greetings in the Name of H.I.M.
This blessed day marks the 78th Anniversary of the Coronation of H.I.M. Haile Selassie I and Empress Menen and is one of the most important days on the Rastafari calendar.
As is well known by now as Judgement Yard and many others have declared it already, this day is not only highly significant within Rastafari solely because His Majesty was crowned on this day, but Empress Menen was crowned alongside H.I.M. as well and this represented a break with Incient Ithiopian tradition.
H.I.M. and Empress Menen are the literal embodiment of Rastafari and represent all the Rastafari is as far as African solidarity, unification and empowerment, equal rights and justice among not only men but women as well, and last not but least, the royal nature of every African man and African woman.
Once the African man and woman recognize their true history and lineage as H.I.M. and Empress Menen, they too will recognize themselves as emperors and empresses as they begin to acknowledge and claim the rich African heritage and soil that is I n I birthright by nature.
As such, every African man and woman will seat up on a throne and become rulers of their own destiny as is the prerogative of every emperor and every empress. With this ruler ship however, there comes a great responsibility and on that note, I n I shall leave ones and ones with the Words of His Majesty in a speech made on this day in 1966:
The Essence of Power
"The power which you possess is but one side of the coin; the other is
responsibility. There is no power or authority without responsibility,
and he who accepts the one cannot escape or evade the other. Each one
of you and each servant of the Ethiopian nation and people would do
well to ponder these words, to take them to his heart, and to guide his
conduct in accordance with their teachings. This is the challenge which
faces you today. Let your labours here during the coming year
demonstrate your capacity to meet it.
May Almighty God guide and assist you in your
work."
